Entertaining Tigers

My studio was full of tigers in December. They held still long enough to have their portraits made. I never got the full story though. I'll have to keep an eye out (and a handful of kitty treats) to get them to tell me a good story.

 The old tiger took one last survey of his domain: a patch of dry jungle (just a tangle, not a jungle) above a dry river bed (really just a small meandering depression) in a corner of the country that no one seemed to care about. It was almost noon and no one was out. Even the weather couldn't make up its mind what it was doing that day. Well, he was doing something, which wasn't saying much. Already, the tiger was thinking of taking a long nap under the palm trees again.

Prince Armand & The Tigers

This is Prince Armand's fancy new tiger cage: A Conservatory for Cats! He will train them to sing and serve him tea. And where is Prince Armand? Well, he is out hunting for his tigers. Actually, they're not exactly "his" …yet. You see, he has big plans. He's not afraid of tigers… at least the ones he's seen in books (and he has many many books!).


Okay, Prince Armand has never seen a real tiger but real tigers have seen him.
