Entertaining Tigers

My studio was full of tigers in December. They held still long enough to have their portraits made. I never got the full story though. I'll have to keep an eye out (and a handful of kitty treats) to get them to tell me a good story.

Quiet Harbor

A scene of great turmoil and tragedy is strangely quiet.
Here in this place where the cries of the doomed were unanswered, ducks dabble and herons study the currents.
A wooden city was built between the steep slopes and the deep blue sea.
Mountain slopes that only nurture granite ledges and primitive pine trees.
The deer live high on the mountain; the sounds of men mingle with cold mountain winds.
There's no wind today though…
All is deathly still, except for the sound of the splashing ducks.

The November Wind

The November wind
The November wind tests a stalwart soul.
A man kicks dry brown leaves which swirl and flutter in the selfish wind.

His thoughts, like hopeful green leaves now drained of color and urgency, roam and fidget never to be completed or understood.
